Do not miss this exciting opera performance featuring highlights from one of the world's most famous operas, Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro."!

The opera takes you on a ride with Figaro and Susanna, two young lovers working as a barber and a chambermaid, respectively, for their boss, the sleazy Count. The twist? The Count is determined to seduce Susanna on their wedding day.

While "The Marriage of Figaro" is a comedic opera filled with humor, there's also an undercurrent of jealousy that adds some drama to the mix.

This performance is created for a youthful audience, and you won't just be a passive observer. You'll have the chance to watch the story unfold from different angles and even have a say in how the plot progresses.

Mark your calendars – the premiere is set for 19 October 2024, at Hugoteatern, located within Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) at Teknikringen 35.

Join us on this journey leading up to the premiere!

We'll be sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of the production process, from October 2023 all the way to the big show in October 2024.

Today, we were figuring out how the orchestra will be arranged. In the picture, you can see Maria Lindal, who will be our concertmaster. The concertmaster is the violinist who sits at the far left of the conductor. They play a crucial role in connecting the conductor with the orchestra, and all the violinists strive to follow their lead precisely.

Opera Out of Opera 2

The performance "The Marriage of Figaro" is part of the international project Opera Out of Opera 2 (OOO2), which aims to provide more young people with access to opera. OOO2 is a collaborative project in which we at SKH participate, along with other music universities in Europe 2022 to 2025. We aim to contribute to solutions for producing high-quality and easily accessible opera. OOO2 is co-funded by the Creative Europe program of the European Commission.
